A woman married herself after she got bored waiting for 'Mr. Right'.

Laura Mesi, 40, had promised herself she would wed herself if she hadn't met "the one" by the time she hit the milestone age, and she's stayed true to her word.

She told Italian newspaper La Republica: "I told friends and family that if I had not found my soulmate by my 40th birthday I would marry myself."

During an extravagant ceremony attended by 70 guests, the lone bride who had a solo figure on top of a white tiered cake - splashed PS8,700 on her big day, including a white gown and special ring.

While she admitted she would divorce herself for the right man, she added: "If one day I find a man with whom I can plan a future I'll be happy, but my happiness does not depend on him."

Californians have spotted a giant penis drawn in the sky.

Following the sighting on the artistic experiment, two Marine Corps pilots were grounded to allow an investigation into the drawing.

Major Josef Pattern told Marine Corps Times: "The T-34C crew that is being investigated for flying a pattern resembling an obscene image are currently not flying pending the results of an ongoing investigation."

Oddly, people have praised the drawing on social media.

One Twitter user noted: "On the bright side, this shows how greatly proficient these pilots are. They've been trained well.

"We can be proud that our fighter pilots are probably the best in the world, and drawing a penis with this amount of skill, and precision proves it!"

Similar phallic stunts have happened before.

In November last year, an aircrew who flew a Navy Warplane in the shape of a penis above the town of Okanogan, Washington were grounded.

A megachurch pastor has claimed yoga has "demonic roots".

The Assemblies of God pastor John Lindell has told attendees of the James River Church in Missouri that the positions were "created with demonic intent" and go against Christianity.

In a sermon before Halloween, he claimed: "To say the positions of yoga are no more than exercise are tantamount to saying water baptism is just aqua aerobics...

"Yoga is diametrically opposed to Christianity... Christians should stay away from yoga because of its demonic roots."

However, a Christian yogi has dismissed his clams as divisive and "ignorant".

Reggie Harris added: "Yoga brings people together in a heart of unity and love. You're teaching people to hate something that may help them physically, emotionally, spiritually."

A Minnesota baby girl was born on Veterans Day the 11th day of the 11th month - at 11:11pm.

Erin and Mike Potts of Hugo, Minnesota, welcomed their first child on Sunday, which was the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I.

In America, Veterans Day which replaced Armistice Day in 1954 is a public holiday to honour US veterans and victims of all wars.

The girl was born at The Mother Baby Center in St Paul.

WCCO-TV spoke to the new mom who said the childbirth was a long labour that lasted from about 5 a.m. until 11 p.m.

But the glowing mother also added that: "the delivery went smoothly."
