Linstead woman killed in Sligoville crash

The police have launched an investigation into the death of a 39-year-old woman who was killed in a motor vehicle crash in St Catherine on Monday.

She has been identified as Alecia Waisome, of Guava Way, Linstead, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 5:15 p.m. on September 22, Waisome was driving a 2010 Honda Fit along the Sligoville main road when another vehicle allegedly drove onto the roadway and collided with a Toyota Corolla.

The impact left both vehicles extensively damaged, and both drivers sustained injuries. They were assisted to hospital, where Waisome succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle has been warned for prosecution.

The Sligoville police are continuing their investigations.
