Police probe double killing of man and dog in Manchester

A man and his dog were last night chopped to death in the quiet rural community of Canewood district in Manchester.

The deceased man has been identified as 39-year-old Shyan Young, otherwise called 'Shane', a resident of Epping Forest, Comfort Hall in the parish.

According to police reports, residents stumbled upon Young's body about 9:00 p.m., along the roadway in the district, and summoned them.

Upon arrival, the police found Young lying on his back with multiple chop wounds all over his body.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.
