Mechanic arrested after car parts go missing

October 14, 2025

The St Ann police have charged 48-year-old Canadian mechanic Sebastian Beurgeois of Greenwich Estate, Drax Hall, with fraudulent conversion in relation to a series of incidents at a business establishment in Drax Hall between July 7 and August 8.

Reports from the St Ann's Bay police are that at 10:30 a.m. on July 7, a man took his Audi Q5 SUV to the establishment for repairs. He returned in August and realised that a pretensioner - a seat belt safety device - valued at $328,000, and an ambient light valued at $63,000, were missing. Beurgeois could not account for the missing items, so a report was made to the police.

During the investigation, he was taken into custody and subsequently charged. He is scheduled to appear before the St Ann Parish Court on December 4.
